Remembering a man who saw the problem and made a difference in moving the community to solve it.
I was honoured to serve on the board of Stop 103 with him back in the 80s. His leadership taking the message to Peter Gzowski’s Morningside was so important

Jeanie, I just learned about this today and I am so very sorry for your loss. If there is anything I can do for you, please let me know. It breaks my heart that the two of you never got out this way to visit. Hugs to you and the kids - you are in my prayers.

It was a pleasure to know and work with Dennis in a few different contexts. We worked together at the Cégep in Gaspe where his philosophical prowess and gift of public speaking made him an invaluable and interesting professor and colleague. He also contributed greatly to the Gaspe community in so many ways. R.I.P. Dennis you will be missed. ❤️

Dennis and I became friends while we were divinity students at Trinity College. No one who knew him will be surprised to hear that he was a big presence even then. I am thankful to have known, followed, and been inspired by his passionate commitment to Christ and the realization of the Kingdom of God. This manifested itself in myriad ways from Land O' Lakes parish, to Stop 103, to the Ontario legislature, Cégep teaching, episcopacy, and beyond. At times we were geographically close. He was for a time an honorary assistant of mine at St. Stephen's-in-the-Fields, Toronto. We accompanied one another through some personal trials and losses. At other times, our contact was more occasional. I was delighted to serve on the Canadian Anglican-Roman Catholic dialogue when he became co-chair during his tenure as bishop of Quebec. As for his episcopacy, I heard his address to the Quebec synod on the eve of the election of his coadjutor. It was both brilliant and compassionate, consistent, I think, with the creative imagination he brought to his episcopal ministry. I count it a great gift to have known Dennis. "Well done, good and faithful servant."
